YoungArts Photos

For years, any time I traveled was for my sister's dance competitions. When I was able to get away, I could see the choreography of people's interaction with nature, both precise and spontaneous. I place myself in these photos, which move from a free and bountiful nature to a more constrained urban environment. Relating the aesthetics to my emotions, I revel in the order of nature, letting its grandeur and unrestrained movement overwhelm me. These pictures were taken digitally and any editing serves solely to recapitulate my fleeting emotional memory. The final photograph is presented in the medium of cyanotype, which reminds me of the indigo afterimage I see when I close my eyes after seeing something bright.
