The Rings

This project, which I pursued from 2024-2025, explores the emergence of grace from disorder in my subjects. I was drawn to the rings athletes I had grown up watching at the beach because of how they turn moments of freefall into powerful, heroic expression. I tried to capture these moments when falling becomes flight. The device of the rings reassures us that the athletes are in control, even in inversion.
