Originally, I was only creating written stories; I started taking photographs to accompany my sports articles. Now, I try to tell stories through both pictures and words.

Flag football, once seen as just a safer alternative to its tackle counterpart, is well on its way to becoming a popular sport sensation in its own right thanks to its accessibility, addictive action and plans for an eye-opening introduction as an Olympic sport in the 2028 Los Angeles games. 

"Picture the future: the changing world of sports photography"

They take the perfect shot, but they’re not in the NBA. They get thousands of hits, but they’re not in the MLB. They have millions of followers, but the average sports fan doesn’t even know their names. The sports photographer is a skilled player on an ever-changing field where new technology and social media have dramatically altered how fans interact with sports.

In the summer of 2024, I was fortunate enough to have a paid internship, learning the ins and outs of writing and photography with the fantastic professionals at the LA Times.
